President Donald Trump, during his trip to Asia, will participate in the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia before making stops in Japan and South Korea.

China has called on its neighbours Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN countries to make greater efforts in science and technology, including carrying out joint scientific and technological research, according to the official Xinhua.

Japan’s newly-elected Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi was greeted by East Timor Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Sunday.

Takaichi, who ascended to her role on Oct. 21 as the first woman Japanese prime minister, was making her debut international visit as PM to Malaysia for the ongoing Asean Summit from Oct. 26 to 28.
