White House demolition begins on East Wing to make way for Trump’s $250 million ballroom
The White House on Monday began demolishing part of the East Wing, the traditional home to the first lady’s offices, to make way for President Donald Trump’s proposed $250 million ballroom despite not having construction approval from the federal agency that oversees such projects.
Treasury Department employees told in email that they could ‘potentially reveal sensitive items, including security features’ by snapping photos of the work, and sharing them online
Demolition of the White House's East Wing began on Monday, with bulldozers visibly removing a side of the building to make room for President Trump's planned ballroom. Meanwhile, the government shutdown has reached Day 21.
