The Denver Broncos won their ninth straight game, outlasting the Washington Commanders 27-26 in overtime, to remain the top seed in the AFC.

Nik Bonitto batted away Marcus Mariota’s pass in overtime to deny Washington a winning 2-point conversion, and the Denver Broncos held on for their ninth straight victory, a 27-26 thriller over the Commanders.

During one particular segment on Sunday Night Football dissecting Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix’s 2025 season, the Fall Out Boy song “Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year” was playing in the background.

The Washington Commanders began the second quarter at the Denver Broncos 23-yard line having just converted a third and 12 to end the first quarter. They were in prime position to put points on the board.

The Denver Broncos look to take another step toward their first AFC West crown since 2015 when they fly east to visit the struggling Washington Commanders. The Broncos (9-2) come in having won eight straight games, the league's second-longest active winning streak behind the New England Patriots, while the Commanders (3-8) have lost six straight.
