Trump late Monday night fought back, suggesting his administration may investigate Musk’s companies’ massive government contracts. On Tuesday at the White House, Trump said Musk risked losing “a lot more” than government subsidies and threatened that the Department of Government Efficiency that Musk once led may “go back and eat Elon.”

The feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is back on. After Musk has railed against Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill in recent days, as GOP leaders struggle to get it across the finish line, the president took the opportunity to lash out at him.

After Musk attacked his signature spending bill, the U.S. president threatened to turn Musk's own government agency, DOGE, into a "monster" that would "go back and eat" him.
