After a slow start in Nick Caley's system, the Texans offense is picking up the pace in training camp after good show vs Carolina.

According to multiple reports, the Texans are sending Metchie to the defending Super Bowl champions in exchange for tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick. The Eagles will also receive a 2026 sixth-round pick, which initially was sent over to Houston in the C.J. Gardner-Johnson deal earlier this offseason.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans have agreed to a trade that sends wide receiver John Metchie III and a 2026 sixth-round pick from Houston to Philadelphia in exchange for tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick,

The Houston Texans will have to make difficult decisions after next Saturday's preseason game against the Lions. Thirty-seven players will be cut.

Metchie, who's entering the final year of his rookie contract, was shipped off to Philadelphia for a 2026 fifth-round pick and tight end Harrison Bryant. The Eagles are regained their 2026 sixth-round pick from the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade from March.

Powell was one of two wideouts signed by Houston, which also inked Juwann Winfree. Both receivers join the team, after the Texans traded John Metchie to the Eagles. Powell, 27, has spent time with the Chiefs, Seahawks and played for the DC Defenders of the United Football League. He's appeared in three NFL games and did not accumulate any stats.

Ahead of Saturday's preseason finale against the Detroit Lions, the Houston Texans signed wide receivers Juwannn Winfree and Cornell Powell.
