Weather and cautions posed the biggest threat to Van Gisbergen, including a Lap 74 crash from Cody Ware, which took NASCAR more than 30 seconds to bring out the caution flag officially. "The strategy was a bit all over the place, as we knew it would be today, racing the weather, racing cars and different (pit) stops," Van Gisbergen added.

Ty Gibbs finished in a season-best second place, followed by Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch making up the rest of the top five. A.J. Allmendinger, Ryan Preece, Alex Bowman, Austin Hill and Ross Chastain rounded out the top 10.

The NASCAR Cup Series hits Chicago for a street-course race through the city, which will also serve as the second round of the In-Season Challenge.
