Tonali and Guimaraes give Newcastle a big victory against 10-man Chelsea, as their Champions League dreams are on track.

Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes fired Newcastle a step closer to Champions League qualification as 10-man Chelsea's hopes were dealt a significant blow on Tyneside. Tonali's second-minute strike and Bruno's deflected effort at the death secured a 2-0 victory at St James' Park on a day when the visitors had to cope with a numerical disadvantage for 55 minutes after striker Nicolas Jackson was sent off for elbowing Sven Botman.

On the other side, Chelsea has been picking up steam. With a 3-1 win over Liverpool last weekend, the Blues have gone unbeaten in six straight league matches, having won three contests in a row. In the tight race that both clubs are in, three points is almost a necessity to ensure they stay in the top five.
