North Carolina Courage sporting director Ceri Bowley said there were a “multitude of factors” that led to the firing of coach Sean Nahas but would not elaborate.

Sources told ESPN that the "multitude of factors" included the team's record, inconsistent play and a loss of faith in the direction of the team.

The North Carolina Courage announced they had terminated the contract of head coach Sean Nahas “effective immediately” on Wednesday night. Assistant coach Nathan Thackeray will serve as acting head coach for the team’s match against the Houston Dash this weekend.
