BP's 440,000-bpd refinery in Whiting, Indiana, continued to flare after flooding disrupted its operations earlier this week, the company said.

Milwaukee-area gas prices are on the rise as the result of flooding at a major oil refinery in Indiana, according to AAA Wisconsin and GasBuddy. Late morning August 21, some prices had jumped 20 cents to $3.19 per gallon, said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.

BP's Whiting refinery restarts after flooding sent its units offline, with Midwest fuel prices expected to feel the strain.
