The Michigan Wolverines are gearing up for the most important game of their season. In a matchup simply known as "The Game", they are aiming to play spoiler against the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ohio State (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) goes into Michigan Stadium unbeaten and atop the AP poll for the first time since 1973. That game ended in a 10-10 tie. OSU also is trying to avoid dropping five straight to The Team Up North for the first time since Michigan reeled off six straight wins from 1922 to '27.
"The Game" is just days away and Michigan coach Sherrone Moore wants his players not to get sidetracked in the moment when playing Ohio State this Saturday in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines have won the last four matchups in a row.
Michigan, which received 42 of 50 first-place votes, overtook Michigan State for the top spot after the Spartans (9-3) were swept by Wisconsin (10-2-2) last week. The Badgers moved up to No. 2 in both polls, while MSU dropped to No. 3.
Much of the top 15 are on the road this week, which means there are plenty of close spreads and opportunities for upsets.
