Ruben Amorim has paid for friends and family of his Manchester United backroom team to attend the Europa League final in Bilbao. As part of continuing cost-cutting measures, United have informed staff that they will not be offered complimentary tickets for next week’s final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Although the winners of the Europa League automatically qualify for the Champions League next season, that may not necessarily be the case for Ruben Amorim and Co. Under UEFA rules, two clubs under the same ownership are not allowed to compete in European competitions simultaneously, even if they were in different tournaments.

Manchester United could be banned from the Champions League even if they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final due to UEFA's multi-club rules.
