A decision to deny federal emergency aid to areas of Western Maryland hit hard by flooding in May is being called petty, partisan and punishing by Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D), who met Sunday with federal and local officials to discuss next steps.

The flooding left behind damage to homes, buildings, bridges and roadways. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore wrote a letter to the White House asking for federal assistance.
