A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper has been indicted on an aggravated assault charge in connection with a shooting in 2023.

APD lists the allegation as aggravated assault. Under Texas Penal Code §22.02, aggravated assault is generally treated as a second-degree felony but can be raised to a first-degree felony in specific situations. A first-degree conviction can bring penalties ranging from five to 99 years or life in prison, along with fines of up to $10,000.

The Savannah Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 21-year-old Wykeise Liddell.
