The Chicago White Sox have made UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky the No. 1 pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

Day 1 of the two-day MLB Draft arrived Saturday and the White Sox used the No. 1 selection on UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky.

“You see a much stronger player. He's more physically advanced,” said White Sox director of amateur scouting Mike Shirley, before the selection, of how Cholowsky has changed during this season.
