The Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector has a new interim chief patrol agent. Walter N. Slosar is now head of the sector that stretches from the eastern edge of El Paso County to the New Mexico-Arizona state line.

Around 1,650 troops from Mexico's National Guard arrived in Juárez, Mexico on Tuesday as part of 10,000 troops sent to reinforce the southern border.

The U.S. Border Patrol named Walter N. Slosar the interim chief of the El Paso Sector, which includes El Paso County and New Mexico.

According to a social media post by the 27th Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, Michael W. Banks, they dismantled the operation by arresting four smugglers and apprehending eight undocumented migrants, some from Mexico and others from Ecuador and Guatemala.
