HADDINGTON’S only Bank of Scotland is closing in June because the majority of local customers now instead use the mobile app.

A BID is being made to launch an SWI (Scottish Women’s Institutes) in Haddington – more than a decade after a similar group closed.

East Lothian has suffered an avalanche of bank closures over the past 12 years. At the start of 2014, the county had a total of 19 banks across nine towns and villages.
