Max Scherzer joined the Toronto Blue Jays convinced he can win a World Series with a third team following titles with Washington and Texas.

Scherzer, the three-time Cy Young Award winner who turns 41 in July, has agreed to a one-year, $15.5 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, his fifth team in the past five seasons. MLB Network was first to report Scherzer was joining the Blue Jays.

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Alonso and the Mets agreed on Wednesday to a two-year, $54 million contract. The deal reportedly includes a $10 million signing bonus and an opt-out after the first year,
