The lucky lottery player who won the big $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot on Christmas Eve has claimed their prize nearly a month later. On Thursday, Jan. 22, Powerball announced that the winner stepped forward to claim their prize. The lottery player chose to remain anonymous.

To win the tremendous prize, the winner matched all five white numbers drawn and the red Powerball -- 4, 25, 31, 52, 59 PB: 19 -- in the Dec. 24 Powerball drawing. The player won a jackpot worth $1.817 billion, after no one had won the jackpot for a record 47 consecutive drawings.

One lucky person has won the first Powerball jackpot of 2026, with the option to receive an annuity of $209.3 million or a lump sum of $95.3 million.

The winner chose to remain anonymous, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said, and sought legal and financial advice before coming forward.
