Two of four people who died in a tornado outbreak that struck southern Michigan on Friday night have been publicly identified.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency in three Southwest Michigan counties affected by four tornadoes that left four people, including a child, dead.

In Edwardsburg, Michigan, area, near the Indiana border, officials reported downed trees and several homes that had been heavily damaged, and warned residents to avoid the area.
