The real focus is on Wednesday night and Thursday, as a storm barrels in from the Midwest. That storm will start off as snow as it reaches Upstate on Wednesday night, then turns into sleet and freezing rain as warmer air surges in from southeast into Thursday.

Syracuse, N.Y. — The odds of ice forming on trees and roads across Upstate New York tonight and Thursday have dropped, but the storm will still be messy and scattered areas of ice could still cause travel issues.

There is another snow storm on the way to Boston and most of Massachusetts this weekend. It's not a blizzard or a nor'easter but it will likely be more snow than we have had in one storm in years.The last time Boston received 6" or more in one storm was Feb.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for all of Massachusetts due to the potential for more than a half foot of snow across the region this weekend. Boston 25 Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz has us on a Weather Alert for Saturday night into Sunday morning.

A winter storm watch has been issued for much of the tri-state area, from New York City through northern New Jersey and Fairfield, Connecticut, ahead of a system expected to dump over 6 inches of snow in the Hudson Valley.
