The St. Louis Blues are still reeling from a heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Winnipeg Jets in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
St. Louis (44-30-8) surrendered a two-goal lead in the final three minutes of regulation, leading to a 4-3 loss in double overtime to Winnipeg (56-22-4) in game seven of its first-round playoff series.
The St. Louis Blues were one overtime period away from playing in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Adam Lowry ended the Blues’ season 16 minutes into the second overtime, forcing them to start their offseason early.
The Blues have an opportunity to improve their defense and depth forwards through offseason trades this summer.
This season the Blues were retooling while trying to contend. Next season, the focus will be totally shift to contending.
St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway underwent surgery for an undisclosed injury and is expected to be able to play at the start of the 2025-26 season. The news about veteran defenseman Torey Krug is not as positive.

This series has played out like many expected. Tough, dirty and exciting games between two division rivals. As stated earlier, the home side has managed to come out on top through the first five games. The Jets took control of the series with wins in Winnipeg in Games 1 and 2, while the Blues answered back with dominant victories in St. Louis.
