House Republican cohesion ticked up just slightly last year, from a historically bad 2023, while Senate Democrats saw record success on votes that split the parties as both chambers dealt with narrow margins that left diminishing room for dissent.

The Senate maneuvered past a procedural hurdle on its preferred Trump budget bill after leapfrogging the House Republicans, who were expected to take the lead on the process.

A top House Democratic super PAC is targeting Republicans over their proposed cuts to Medicaid. In a release Tuesday, House Majority PAC said lower chamber Republicans have gone “full Matt Bevin”

The blueprint conflicts with a Senate budget resolution, which doesn't address taxes or the debt ceiling. It also includes less funding than the Senate's for immigration enforcement.
