Currently, each member represents the whole town, and no member needs to reside in any specific part of the town. The council plans to change that, effective for the next municipal election in 2026.

Grymek said he is running for a town council seat to make sure Cape Elizabeth continues to flourish. Swayze, 46, married with two children is seeking election to the town council.
