The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices was set to meet beginning February 26 and provide recommendations regarding several vaccines, including GSK's meningococcal vaccine and AstraZeneca's flu shot. That meeting will not happen, Stat News reported citing the U.S Department of Health and Human Services' director of communications.

A CDC vaccine advisory committee meeting scheduled for next week has been postponed. It was the first vaccine meeting since health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sworn in.

Kennedy, who has called for public health agencies to focus on chronic diseases, was sworn in after a close Senate vote.
