The Dallas Stars’ pursuit of a second Stanley Cup took another step forward on Sunday when they defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-2. Dallas now leads the Jets two games to one in the second round of the playoffs. Sunday’s win was not without some drama though, with a third period score by the Stars’ Alexander Petrovic.

Dallas Stars center Colin Blackwell and defenseman Cody Ceci (44) and Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (44) and left wing Kyle Connor (81) battle for the puck. Stars coach Pete DeBoer interpreted the ruling differently.

Jake Oettinger has outplayed Connor Hellebuyck, but this series has been well-played defensively and between the pipes for both the Jets and Stars. That continues in Game 4. The Winnipeg Jets will look to even their Round 2 series against the Dallas Stars with a road victory at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, May 13.
