Install the rings on the piston from the bottom up and orient the ring end gaps as shown in the illustration. Test-fitting centers mainly around the short-block to ensure the proper clearances.

One of the challenges includes installing the piston rings and spiro loxs. Tackling this small procedure doesn't have to be frustrating though.
