French President Emmanuel Macron traveled to Washington seeking to convince U.S. President Donald Trump to stand by Europe’s side in his talks with Russia about ending the war in Ukraine.

European leaders and officials took to social media on Friday to express their support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after he had an explosive Oval Exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

Macron's visit falls on the three-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Macron said last week France and its partners want a "lasting and solid peace in Ukraine" after an emergency meeting of European officials in Paris as the U.S. held talks with Russia in Saudi Arabia.
