Left tackle Jordan Mailata isn't a fan of snow games, but the Eagles could turn adverse conditions into an advantage against the Rams.

The Eagles famously hosted the Detroit Lions in 2013 in a game dubbed the “Snow Bowl,” with whiteout conditions throughout regulation. LeSean McCoy ran 217 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-20 victory.

That's the reality for Sunday afternoon when the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams face off in the divisional round of the 2025 playoffs. While many Eagle players have experienced what kind of help the cold (and snow) can bring to the team - especially at home - not everyone is thrilled with that reality.

One of the Eagles' biggest strengths in recent years has been their treasure trove of gifted offensive linemen. From Jason Peters and Jason Kelce to Lane Johnson, it seems Philadelphia has a knack for developing stables of athletic behemoths to safeguard the trenches.

The Eagles will be taking on a Los Angeles defense that tied an NFL playoff record with nine sacks Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jordan Mailata was a blatant Pro Bowl snub, but he got his revenge and ultimate respect, earning first-team Associated Press All-Pro honors for 2024. The Eagles left tackle was among six players from Philadelphia to earn first or second-team honors.

On run plays, Eagles defensive tackle Thomas Booker said he “knows the edge is going to be set” when teams go to Smith’s side. Smith does a good job of making running backs cut back inside to get tackled by their interior defensive linemen and linebackers, which has to be a priority against Rams running back Kyren Williams.

If the Eagles get an early lead and can lean on the run, the Rams will be in trouble. Even if they commit eight defenders to the box in an attempt to stop Barkley, they don’t necessarily have the athleticism at linebacker to chase him down on off-tackle runs, which could lead to big gains.

Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun earned first-team honors, while Jordan Mailata and several other Eagles made the second-team.

Bradberry's Eagles tenure was tainted by a bad 2023 season, but he was excellent in 2022, earning an All-Pro nod. Slay also made the Pro Bowl that season, and the Eagles had the No. 1 pass defense in the NFL. Maddox was still a good player at the time, but he couldn't stay on the field.

Saquon Barkley gave Los Angeles Rams rookie Jared Verse a word of caution over the latter’s declaration of hatred toward Philadelphia Eagles fans. Verse, who grew up in Pennsylvania, revealed earlier this week that he “hates” Eagles fans and called them “so annoying” to the point that simply seeing them makes the Rams linebacker upset.

Eagles offensive coordiantor Kellen Moore has three head coaching interviews over a two-day stretch, with one NFC East rival interested in him returning to their team.
