Australia has taken a major step in delivering its future nuclear-powered submarine capability by paying Aus$310 million ($220 million) for the first British-built parts of nuclear reactors destined for SSN-AUKUS attack submarines, the government announced on 24 February.
"South Australia is at the centre of one of the most significant defence undertakings in our history," Premier of South Australia Peter Malinauskas said in a press release.
