Desmond Burks, the man who pleaded guilty to murdering Detroit neurosurgeon Dr. Devon Hoover, addressed the court ahead of his sentencing on Friday, Feb. 20.

Dr. Devon Hoover was found dead in the attic of his home in Detroit's Boston-Edison neighborhood in April 2023.

Desmond Burks smiled, waved, and threw up peace signs during his sentencing, where a judge brought down a 35-to-60-year sentence in the killing of Devon Hoover.
