BELFAST Zoo bid a sad farewell to two of the world’s rarest lions today after the animals were euthanised “to end suffering”.
She arrived at Naples Zoo in 2013 from Ohio after being genetically matched through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan.
Thheiba and Fidda were 22-years-old and were the remaining two females of a pride at the zoo, with one male lion named Qays remaining.
