The Republican-led Budget Committee approved a sweeping proposal to unlock Trump's agenda, sending it to the full House.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans released a budget plan Wednesday that sets the stage for advancing many of President Donald Trump’s top domestic priorities, providing for up to $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and a $4 trillion increase in the debt limit so the U.S. can continue financing its bills.

Republican leaders agreed to accept a tighter limit on tax cuts’ size if spending reductions miss their target.

The initial plan calls for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and at least $1.5 trillion in spending reductions, along with an increase in the debt limit and funds for immigration enforcement.

The Senate is moving ahead with its own narrower plan focusing on border security.

The blueprint conflicts with a Senate budget resolution, which doesn't address taxes or the debt ceiling. It also includes less funding than the Senate's for immigration enforcement.
