U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis, met one-on-one in a marble-lined Vatican basilica on Saturday to try to revive faltering efforts to end Russia's war with Ukraine.

President Donald Trump is calling for Ukraine and Russia to meet for “very high level talks,” saying they are “very close to a deal” after productive meetings.

President Donald Trump hosted Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg at the White House on Thursday. In remarks to reporters, Trump said he believes Russia is still interested in peace with Ukraine and later said he would hold off on considering additional sanctions until it’s clearer whether a ceasefire deal can be reached.
