An Islamic State operative who allegedly helped carry out the 2021 suicide bombing outside Kabul airport during the chaotic US military withdrawal from Afghanistan appeared in a Virginia court Wednesday.

A suspected participant in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport that killed 13 American service members and roughly 170 Afghan civilians during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan has arrived in the U.

The president had vowed to bring those responsible for the deadly bombing to justice.

The White House social media account identified the man Tuesday night as Muhammed Sharifullah and described him as having "orchestrated the Abbey Gate attack."

Mohammad Sharifullah was allegedly one of two masterminds behind the Abbey Gate bombing that killed 13 American service members.
