Five days before the Academy Awards, nearly every nominee gathered for a cocktail reception, dinner and class picture that served as a sort of Oscars orientation.

Just five nights before the 97th Oscars, the Academy hosted a gathering at its museum in place of the traditional Oscar Nominees Luncheon, which was canceled in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires.
