Freddy Peralta allowed one hit and struck out six batters and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-0. All-Star pitcher Peralta (15-5) shut Chicago out over six innings to help Milwaukee advance to an MLB-best record of 79-45.

For the first time since July 30, the Milwaukee Brewers have lost a game. The Cincinnati Reds finally got the job done in toppling the beast that the Brewers have become on Sunday afternoon, though it took a late charge and extra innings to do so with a 3-2 win.
