Manfred told Lenkov that lifetime bans would be lifted upon the death of an individual, and as a result Rose, Jackson and numerous other players will have their bans lifted.
Lenkov attended a Dec. 17 meeting with Rose’s daughter, Fawn, Manfred and MLB executive Pat Courtney in the commissioner’s office. The petition was filed Jan. 8.
The petition was filed in January by Jeffrey Lenkov, a Southern California lawyer who represented Rose prior to the 17-time All-Star's death at age 83.
