Roots musician Michael Franti is continuing his American tour amid the fallout of being accused of grooming and sexual misconduct by a young Spanish-American artist.

While not naming the artist directly, the statement seems to be in response to her coming forward about allegations of an inappropriate relationship when she was 19.

The estranged couple, both 40, are slated to face each other in court in Charlottesville on Aug. 27 in a hearing that is currently slated to be open to the public.
