DeSantis signs austerity budget, saves Florida businesses nearly $1 billion in taxes
TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis approved an austere spending plan on the last day of the fiscal year Monday under $115 billion, one that is less than the current budget yet still delivers almost $1 billion in tax savings for Florida businesses. DeSantis said he vetoed nearly $600 million worth of items approved by the Legislature.

The roughly $115 billion budget was $3.5 billion less than the current year. DeSantis’ action shrinks the plan even further, and tucks more into what had been $12.4 billion in reserves.
