The United States Supreme Court ordered the Alabama to redraw its congressional map after finding the current layout gerrymandered in a 5-4 ruling. Now, Tom Holmes and incumbent Rep. Barry Moore will face off to represent the state's 1st Congressional District.

Alabama will hold races for its seven congressional districts, as well as a race for chief justice of the Supreme Court. There's also one state measure on the ballot dealing with the Franklin County Board of Education.

Democrat Shomari Figures, who worked in the Obama White House and as a former top aide to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, is trying to flip the seat, which was redrawn after a lengthy redistricting battle.
