Halloween has become a fixed event in many locations' calendars. These five destinations offer visitors a spookily beautiful stay during the creepy festivities.

Fall is arguably the best season: There’s patio hangs, enjoying the fire pit, tailgating and, of course, Halloween. I’m way too old to trick-or-treat so my favorite way to celebrate is with a good semi-scary movie (I can only handle a certain level).

Here in the desert, we are finally in the cool embrace of autumn with all of its pleasures: college football, apple cider and no more concern about looking good in that bathing suit. And along with those benefits is the looming holiday season, beginning with Halloween.
