Carter wound up being picked third; the Jaguars selected Colorado wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter after trading up.

The New York Giants landed another high-end defender for their already stacked defensive front. However, it wasn’t all good news for Abdul Carter. According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Penn State standout was also a victim of a prank during Draft night.

Abdul Carter was one of the highest-ranked prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Most analysts believed he would go to the New York Giants, the team that ultimately selected him with the No. 3 overall pick.
