Three Stanley Cups, three Lady Byngs, and a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame: Fort William's Alex Delvecchio is being remembered for his on-ice skill, and off-ice kindness.

A center who skated alongside Gordie Howe on the team’s famed “Production Line,” he helped win three Stanley Cups and stood out for his clean play over 24 years in Detroit.

Detroit Red Wings legend Alex Delvecchio died on Tuesday, July 1, at 93 years old. The Hall-of-Famer played all 24 of his NHL seasons (1950-74) with the Red Wings, playing in 1,550 games, winning three Stanley Cups and three Lady Byng Memorial Trophies during his career.
