Wagner is the third Houston Astros player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Craig Biggio (2015) and Jeff Bagwell (2017).

He joins Jeff Bagwell, Iván Rodríguez, Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan, Don Sutton, Nellie Fox, Joe Morgan, Eddie Mathews and Robin Roberts. Former manager Leo Durocher was also inducted.
