Tottenham remain in talks with Crystal Palace over a move for playmaker Eberechi Eze and there is a 'good chance' of a deal, per David Ornstein.

Tottenham had been hoping to close the Eze deal quickly, yet they are encountering the firm stance of Steve Parish and his board. The reported fee, “likely to be £55m plus £5m in add-ons”, underlines the scale of investment Spurs are prepared to make.

Romero joined Spurs from Juventus in summer 2021, in a deal worth €55million (£47.4m; $64.3m at current rates), and has been a mainstay at the heart of defence under former head coaches Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou.
