Joe Burrow directs two touchdown drives, Bengals outlast Jayden Daniels’ Commanders for 31-17 win
Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks from LSU, headlined the “Monday Night Football” matchup in the second preseason game for each team.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow played three series to open Monday night's game against the Commanders and the final possession saw him sharing the field with a different supporting cast.
"Well Jake Browning, he comes in now," Troy Aikman said during the broadcast. "He takes over. Oh, excuse me. No Burrow, he's back in."
Stewart was brought in to Cincinnati because the Bengals needed a pass-rusher to complement Trey Hendrickson, and although Hendrickson hasn't practiced yet during training camp due to a contract dispute, he has been a constant presence at the Bengals practice facility.
Joe Burrow is ready for the regular season. The Bengals quarterback completed 9 of 14 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in three series Monday night. The Bengals scored two touchdowns on his three drives.
