Public schools in Massachusetts are closed for Veterans Day on Tuesday. Many private colleges, however, still have classes on Veterans Day. All RMV offices and service center locations in Massachusetts are closed on Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday. Most banks are closed for Veterans Day.

People should anticipate that some services may not operate on their normal schedules — if at all — due to the holiday Tuesday.

Veterans Day will be observed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, this year. Will banks, post offices, and public libraries be closed that day?

Members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, ROC Veterans Association, 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment and others joined Boston’s Veterans Day Parade Saturday. The parade began at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square and ended at City Hall Plaza with an address by Mayor Michelle Wu.

Flash Car Wash is celebrating Veterans Day by offering free Diamond Washes to veterans and active service members at all 22 locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island on Tuesday.

Tuesday is Veterans Day, and this Federal holiday is to recognize all who have served in the United States military, both living and deceased.

Two awards named in honor of war heroes from Massachusetts will be presented on Veterans Day at the State House.

A Parade Kick-off ceremony will take place at the War Veterans Monument in upper Kennedy Park at 12:30 p.m. The Veterans Day Parade will step off at 1 p.m. from Kennedy Park and proceed north on South Main Street to Fall River Government Center.

Government offices, libraries, and banks will be closed for the federal holiday, while most retailers will be open.

Expect a chilly start to Tuesday with wind chills dropping temperatures into the upper teens and 20s by daybreak. These will be the coldest temperatures of the season, so make sure to dress warmly if you are attending any Veterans Day events.
