The following are the group designations that AKC breeds have been assigned. There are currently 202 breeds and 9 breeds with 21 varieties. The varieties are by size, color or group.

For Mixed Breed dogs or non-AKC registerable purebreds. For rare breeds that are currently being recorded in our FSS program. For foreign-born dogs that meet AKC eligibility requirements.

Keep in mind that these matches are a great starting point, but we always encourage you to meet your favorite breeds in person, and talk with people who own or breed them to learn more!
