Mar 5, 2024 · The City of Marina has established a Below Market Rate (BMR) Homeownership program. This program is adopted to implement and administer the Inclusionary Housing Units that are required within the approvals of new housing developments with the City.

The Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department oversees the Youth, Teen and Senior Centers. In addition, the Department holds a variety of community special events and sports leagues. Recreation staff and volunteers host numerous community events each year and provides safe places for children to go after school.

The City of Marina was incorporated in 1975 and the police and fire services were integrated in 1978 to form the Public Safety Department. The department was broken down into Police and Fire Divisions and both operate out of the Public Safety building.
