This is it. Kattar's jab is great, but he just didn't throw it in the volume he needed to overcome the visual power in Emmett's strikes. Jan 16, 2021 · Max is just masterclass. Crisp jab, switched it up from the body to head perfectly, countered off Kattar's legs kicks early, shutdown his wrestling, and kept up an insane pressure. Pretty much neutralized his entire offense. Made it look easy too. Props to Kattar for hanging in there and avoiding the finish though.

this happened with Yair and Ortega too, Kattar and Allen as well. Thats two what should have been title eliminators, ended extremely prematurely. Allen had some great footwork, which caused the weird jump that popped Kattars knee, but its such a unconvincing way to win to many people, same with the sub of Ortega, from yanking his arm.

May 28, 2023 · Great work from Max but it highlights how predictable Kattar is with his offense. Same reason he struggled with a shorter Emmett and was getting styled on by Allen, Renato, and Zabit. Max is slipping to the inside of that jab before Kattar even begins to throw it, moving head head as soon as Kattar's steps and widens his stance.

In retrospect Calvin was also just a really good matchup for Max. Another boxing purist who isn't extraordinarily powerful or fast, but is still reasonably well-rounded. What that meant in practice is Max didn't have to worry much about leg kicks and was able to focus purely on what he's best - boxing - and also had the pretty clear athletic ...

Jul 21, 2020 · Yup, and while both Dustin and Calvin will switch their stances at times, Dustin is a natural southpaw while Calvin is orthodox...the southpaw stance gave Max a lot of issues and he was having trouble breaking down Dustin's unique guard as well.
